Antoine Durenne was born in 1822 and was a prominent French iron and bronze founder.
- In 1857, he purchased a small foundry in Sommevoire, near Val d'Osne, France.
- He exhibited at the International Exhibitions in Paris in 1862 and 1867. Antoine Durenne was awarded the Legion of Honor in 1863.
- He worked with French sculptors such as Carrier-Belleuse, Emmanuel Frémiet, Rouillard, Delabrière, Mathurin Moreau, and Bartholdi.
- Durenne's foundry was responsible for significant public works, such as the Ross Fountain in Edinburgh. Sculptural groups and cast animals can be seen in various historic parks and gardens in the United Kingdom.
- In 1888, the foundry acquired the Paris address of S.A.d.F. du Val d'Osne, located at 26 Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière.
- Before 1930, the Durenne foundry merged with Val d'Osne to form the Societe Anonyme des Establissements Metallurgiques A. Durenne et du Val d'Osne.
