The company Gebrüder Bing (Bing Brothers, abbreviated as GBN) was founded in 1863 in Nuremberg, Germany, by brothers Ignaz and Adolf Bing.
Bing produced a wide and highly sought-after line of tableware, fine pewter items (Zinn).
Between the late 1890s and World War I, the company strongly embraced the Jugendstil aesthetic (the German version of Art Nouveau), creating pewter pieces with stylized geometric designs, floral, organic motifs.

The inscription "BINGIT ZINN" was specifically used to denote its high-quality pewter artistic collections and lines (Zinn means pewter in German).
The company suffered a severe impact due to the post-World War I crisis and the political situation in Germany, leading to the departure of the Bing family in 1927 and ultimately to the definitive cessation of its operations and liquidation of the company in 1932.
