Rochas (originally founded as Marcel Rochas Paris) is a legendary house of haute couture, luxury fashion, and high perfumery founded in Paris in 1925 by designer Marcel Rochas.
Although it started as a textile firm, the success of its fragrances came to surpass that of its clothing. In 1944, it launched its flagship perfume, Femme, revolutionizing the industry both for its scent and for its presentation in pink boxes wrapped in black lace. Due to the enormous impact of its fragrance division, the house temporarily closed its haute couture workshops in 1953 to focus entirely on perfumes.
After Marcel's death in 1955, his wife Hélène Rochas took over, becoming one of the first female CEOs in France and transforming the company into a multimillion-dollar empire with unforgettable classics like Madame Rochas (1960) and Eau de Rochas (1970).
Today, the brand remains active globally, maintaining both its prestigious line of perfumes and its prêt-à-porter fashion collections on the runways of Paris Fashion Week.
