Bafico was a manufacturing and distributing firm of luxury items, silverware, and high-end furniture that reached its peak during the Art Deco period in the 1920s and 1930s.
Origin and Production: The pieces engraved with the inscription "BAFICO FRANCE" or "BAFICO PARIS" were made in France. The firm specialized in high-quality silver-plated metal (métal argenté), occasionally combining its metal structures with cut glass for centerpieces or polished exotic woods for bar furniture and sophisticated designed liquor cabinets.
The international connection: In addition to its production in France, it is very common to find in the antiques market pieces marked as "BAFICO ENGLAND" or "BAFICO EPNS Made in England". This is because the company imported or produced tableware and silverware using the renowned British electroplating method (EPNS) to supply international markets.
