The 1990s marked a significant contrast to the explosion of color and the maximalism of the 80s, shifting towards a more sober, relaxed, and, in many cases, minimalist aesthetic.

  1. Bright and orderly environments were sought, avoiding an overload of decorative elements.

  1. Light wood, metal, glass, and stainless steel became very common. Functionality and the honesty of materials were highly valued.

  1. Furniture tended to have straight lines and simple designs, harmoniously integrating into spacious, open areas. Modular furniture was very popular for its versatility.

  1. There was also a trend towards a cozy, country-style decor, featuring high ceilings, large windows, and the use of floral wallpaper on the walls.

The minimalism of the 90s focused on clean lines, simple cuts, and a neutral color palette (white, black, gray, beige).
